To make it easier for customers to opt into automatic billing, an explicit enrollment option is available directly on all customer-facing online payment forms. This feature ensures you can capture payment authorization seamlessly at the exact moment a customer pays an invoice.
The Customer View: What Changes?
On every online payment screen where an end-customer enters their credit card details to pay a balance, they will see an option to securely store their card. Directly alongside the standard "Save card on file" option, a dedicated checkbox is available:
"Charge this payment method automatically upon job completion (autopay)."
By checking this box, the customer grants permission for the system to securely save their card and automatically bill it moving forward.
Supported Payment Gateways
This automatic payment enrollment checkbox is fully supported across both of our primary merchant processing integrations:
- Fiserv: When a customer completes a payment via the Fiserv checkout form and checks the autopay box, the authorization is securely passed back to their profile in the system.
- SprayPay (Powered by PayPal): The checkout experience via SprayPay is similar to Fiserv.
System Behavior: What Happens Next?
- Immediate Autopay Status: Once a customer completes a transaction with this checkbox selected, their account status is automatically updated to Autopay: Enabled inside your office dashboard.
- Hands-Free Billing: Moving forward, whenever a field technician marks a service as completed for this property, the system will instantly and automatically queue the payment method on file to be charged for the balance due.
- Audit Trail: The system logs that the customer opted into autopay themselves via the secure payment portal, providing a clear record of authorization.
