Automatic optimization of Technician schedules means spending less time driving and more time serving customers. Spraye uses a built-in Route Optimization engine to handle the heavy lifting for you.
With automated route optimization, Spraye instantly syncs your stops with mapping servers to calculate and apply the most efficient driving sequence to your field schedule automatically. Technicians will see the optimized route automatically.
How It Works
Spraye automatically analyzes the number of stops to determine the best order and path.
- No Stop Limits: Whether a technician has 5 stops or 50 stops, the system can optimize the entire sequence seamlessly.
- Smart Server Sorting: The rearranging happens entirely in the background. It saves the ideal driving order and updates the technician's mobile view immediately.
Important Clarifications
To keep your expectations aligned with how the system is built, please keep these two factors in mind:
- Polygons Don't Equal Routes: Drawing a shape (polygon) on the map screen is simply a multi-select tool to help you mass-assign properties. Drawing a shape does not automatically create or optimize a route on its own.
- No Live Technician GPS Tracking: The optimization engine calculates the best route before the technician leaves. It does not track the technician’s live GPS location or truck movement throughout the day.
Known Limitations & Common Issues
Because routing relies heavily on accurate mapping data, there are a few known software behaviors the engineering team is currently working to improve:
- Unmapped Properties or Road Closures: If a property address cannot be geolocated by Google (due to a typo or a brand-new development), or if there is a severe road closure, the optimization process may temporarily fail and lock the route editing tool. If this happens, verify your property addresses for typos.
- Single-Stop Reassignments: Occasionally, reassigning just one stop out of an already optimized route can cause the system to automatically reshuffle the remaining stops into an inefficient order.
Need Extra Help?
If you encounter a route that refuses to optimize, please double-check the addresses of the properties on that list. For further assistance, contact our support team at support@spraye.io.
