If a customer's Subscribe switch is turned off, they will not receive automated service notifications (such as pre-service reminders and service completion emails) or marketing emails. Invoices and statements are still sent by email.
Note: The Email Subscribed column reflects the Subscribe switch on the customer's Billing Profile, which only you can change. The "Unsubscribe" link now appears only in marketing emails sent with Send Mass Email. When a customer uses it, only that email address stops receiving marketing emails; their Subscribe switch stays on, they keep getting service and billing emails, and the export still shows them as subscribed.
To make sure customers receive your service notifications, you can export your customer list to quickly check which customers have active email or text subscriptions.
How to Export and Check Subscription Statuses
Rather than checking each customer profile individually, you can review all account subscription settings at once using the CSV Download feature:
- Navigate to the Customer List: Go to the Customer List screen in your admin dashboard.
- Download the Customer Export: Click the CSV Download button located at the top of the screen.
- Open the File: Open the downloaded CSV spreadsheet on your computer using Excel, Google Sheets, or any compatible spreadsheet software.
- Locate Subscription Columns: Scroll to or filter by the following columns:
• Email Subscribed: Indicates whether the customer is opted in to receive email notifications.
• Text Subscribed: Indicates whether the customer is opted in to receive text/SMS communications.
Helpful Tips
- Filter for Unsubscribed Accounts: Use your spreadsheet software’s filter feature on the Email Subscribed column or Text Subscribed column (e.g., filter for
Unsubscribed)to immediately surface any customers who need their email or text subscriptions updated. - New Customer Onboarding: Consider running this export periodically or during onboarding to catch unsubscribed accounts before their first service notifications go out.
